Foodie file

The web is a never ending maze of web pages, blogs and stuff.  While on a clicking high I ended up on someone’s blog which led me to someone else’s who had a great idea which I will be copying.  It’s called a CILTE list, which stands for Crap I Like To Eat…Which I think is great, although I think I’ll call it something a little more my style, so it’s my foodie file.  I’m constantly forgetting recipes that I love, blanking on meal ideas, and just losing all desire to cook, so this is my quick (I haven’t written recipes for them all yet) reference guide.  I would whole heartedly reccomend reading the blog post that inspired me and coming up with your own list.  I just think this is a fun idea and I want to take it a step farther and make this list into a permanent page on my blog and keep updating it. there’s no rhyme or reason to it…just a list of food that I like to eat.

Homemade Mac & Cheese (Kev’s favorite) with bacon and chips
Anything with grilled onions (hamburgers, steak sandwich, sausage sandwich)
Italian sausage spaghetti
fried shrimp/calamari
pan seared steak with garlic cream sauce
pound cake with real whip cream and strawberries soaked in ameretto.
creme brule
phyllo dough cups with lightly sweetened cocoa whip creame with chocolate shavings
soy sauce, ginger and toasted sesame oil marinated tuna crusted with sesame seeds and grilled!!!!!
quesadillas….my favorite being butter, garlic and jack YUMMY!
grilled pork chops
Mashed potatoes
grilled cheese sandwiches…different kinds (drunken goat with honey…yummy)
Spicy Tuna Sushi Bowl
Chicken & Dumpling Soup
Chicken Tortilla Soup
Chicken & Rice
Cream of Tomato Basil Soup
Cheese & Crackers
Apple & Candied walnut salad with poppy seed dressing
focaccia bred with grilled zucchini, onion, & carrots with pesto, pine nuts & mozerella
cheese ravioli with browned butter & myzthra cheese sauce
Applesauce salmon
Hamachi Nigiri

Recipe ideas floating around in my brain that have yet to be formulated:
Deep fried Sweet cream risotto balls dusted with powdered sugar (maybe with pine nuts…candied lemon?)
Greek burger (ground beef burger glazed with balsamic vinegar, topped with sliced red bell pepper, thinly sliced red onion, tomato, olive, & feta in a pita)
Pear & Gorgonzola burger (grass fed beef patty stuffed with gorgonzola, topped with a slaw made of napa cabbage, pear & very finely juliened apple topped with a gorgonzola ranch or poppy seed dressing…maybe try a turkey patty)
Updated all american burger (beef batty stuffed with smoked gouda (preferably yancy’s fancy brand), topped with nice thick bacon and little mayo) maybe try the addition of apple
Pesto with lemon zest, prawns and fresh parmasean (fried egg on top?)
grilled pound cake with some kind of fruit other than strawberries, pineapple? Mango?
savory rice pudding….hmm
Polenta with meat sauce
Chocolate, orange and butter cake triffle…hmmm…Grand marnier
homemade marshmallows covered in caramel…recipes anyone?
Potatoes, carmalized onions, chopped bacon, lox scrambled with eggs possibly served in a tortilla
scrambled eggs with lox
tart with lemon curd a blue berries

yet to have made:
rice pudding (why not??? it’s a favorite, but I just don’t make rice all that often)
bread pudding
